MEDIATION LAW
Kristen S. Simpson
Attorney-At-Law
Sometimes, when relationships are not too hostile and parents feel they do not want or need the expense of extended court appearances, they can agree to mediation selecting a mutually agreed-upon mediator who has the experience dealing with family problems.
Attorneys for each parent can arrange for mediation and if the items are settled without court involvement, the agreement is then put into writing and memorialized, that is recorded with the court as a basis for any problems or adjustments that are needed in the future.
Mediation can be significantly less expensive than a long drawn out court battle.
